VOLKSWAGEN CANADA
JANUARY SALES RESULTS
AJAX, ON – Feb 2,
2012 - After finishing 2011 with its best-ever sales
result, Volkswagen Canada has picked up where it
left off by establishing a new record for January
sales. A total of 3,109 new Volkswagens were sold
from its 135 Canadian dealers during the month.
“We are looking
forward to a full year of sales of the all-new
Passat,” stated John White, President and CEO of
Volkswagen Group Canada. “The Canadian market is
very competitive, and we believe we have solid
players in all categories, particularly the Jetta,
Golf, and Tiguan.”
The Jetta continues
to be the top-selling car for the brand, posting
January sales of 1,513. Sales of the Golf family
were 655, and a total of 316 all-new Passats were
sold.
Soon to join the
lineup will be the 256 horsepower, all-wheel drive
Golf R, which was recently shown at the Montreal
Autoshow. Shortly thereafter, it will be joined by
the all-new CC four door coupe.
This year marks the
60th anniversary of Volkswagen Canada. Founded in
September of 1952, the company has been a proud part
of the Canadian automotive landscape from its most
humble beginnings. Over the years, many significant
milestones have been reached, with many more yet
to come.
