To finish the turbo build within the next few weeks, running well and with the power numbers I'm looking for. After that I just hope to drive it a lot and have fun doing so. I'd to eventually get a respray of the paint, chrome euro bumpers and just tidy up some of the smaller things, but as of now I'm very pleased.

Project is not 100% complete, but WILL be done for H20 in the later part of September. When I first purchased the car it had the 16v conversion with Weber 40DCOE side daughts with the TT exhaust and the FK Coilovers. Sitting on 14" Polished Pirelli P-slots.

Being a snowboard junky, after I graduated high school in the spring of 2005 I decided to move to Salt Lake City, Utah to have a fun winter snowboarding and goofing off with my friends. So I packed up my Mk4 GTI 1.8t, which I recently purchased and drove the 2,500 miles to SLC. After a few months of driving the 1.8t and seeing a lot of other dubs that I enjoyed, I got a little antsy and was ultimately looking for a semi project for when I moved back to the East Coast after winter. I found the '77 and HAD to have it. I traded my GTI in that week and convinced my friend Mike to drive me 15 hours through the icy, dangerous and cruel Rock Mountains to Portland, OR where the car was for sale. Bought the car for 3,800 and drove it back to SLC. Surprisingly it treated me very well that winter, with only minor problems. I had a good chunk of change left over from the GTI, so I started picking together a turbo kit with the help of a few buddies from 30-20 shop which was local in SLC. After the last few months of winter, it was time to pack up and go back home to Massachusetts. I was pretty nervous about the trek home...alone and in a new car (Not to mention it being 30 years old) In a nutshell, the oil pump went and I punched a rod through my block....in western Indiana, over a thousand miles from home. Me and the car made it home safe, and all the thank you goes to my mother. Being home, safe, over the whole ordeal, and without a working car...I got to work. My buddy Eric and myself pulled the engine and tranny within a few days and that is how she sits today, awaiting the engine from the machine shop. A lot of work to do to the new block/head, so I knew it was gonna be a little bit of a wait. Even though I haven't driven her in a while, the coils are still fun to tinker with and adding and making new things while the project is still going.
