STEP 1. |
STEP 2. |

Find a small knife and
get your key ready. Be sure to check your
battery specifications. I know the 1999 -
2000 models take two batteries from what I can
remember, and were smaller in size. My
2001 is a 2032 3.0V battery. |

Slip the knife in between
the line as shown in the picture above. |
|
STEP 3. |
STEP 4. |

Twist the knife down,
this will lift it off the locking plastic that
keeps the key and alarm section together. |

Now that you have split
the two sections, separate them into two. |
|
STEP 5. |
STEP 6. |

Take the remote side
since you are changing the battery and put your
finger on each end and pull. |

Once you have pulled the
two sections apart you will end up with two
pieces as shown in the photo above. You will now
clearly see the battery. Be sure not to touch
the computer board if you are not wearing any
safety anti static equipment (don't rub your
feet on carpet and touch the computer or you
will fry your remote). This is just a
warning which I'm sure many already know. |
|
STEP 7. |
STEP 8. |

Get your battery out (I
choose an Energizer brand) and get the remote
section ready for the new battery. |

Place your knife into a
good spot so you can twist the battery out |
|
STEP 9. |
STEP 10. |

Now that you have the
battery out put the new one in. Be sure you wipe
the grease off the battery (I know my hands were
pretty sweaty and greasy and had to wipe off the
grease this will keep things flowing better). |

Reverse the entire
process and your done!
