VOLKSWAGEN CANADA MAY SALES RESULTS

AJAX, ON – June 2, 2011 – With a total of 5,776 sales during the month of May, Volkswagen Canada has recorded its eighth consecutive record month. The figure broke the previous mark; set in April, for the highest single sales month in the company’s history, and was 26% above last year’s performance. Year-to-date, total sales of 21,936 are 19% above the same period last year.

The brand continues to be led by the all-new 2011 Jetta. In May alone, 2,964 new Jettas were delivered, and with a year-to-date total of 11,486, the Jetta has already sold more units than it did throughout all of last year.

Some 604 Tiguan compact sport utilities found new homes during the month, and sales of the Golf family, including the hatchback, wagon and sporty GTI numbered 1,593.

The "Volksfest" sales program, which has contributed to the outstanding results by offering very competitive financing and leasing, continues through the month of June.
