The result.

STEP 6. STEP 7.

Remove the 10mm bolt that holds the brake line to the strut.

Remove the two 19mm bolts and nuts from spindle (careful to not drop the strut on the CV boot) as shown below.

STRUT REMOVED. STEP 8.

If you have stock springs you should use spring compression tools like these for the next step (lowering springs do not require them).

REMOVING THE SPRINGS - TOOLS STEP 9.

Use a 13/16th spark plug socket to remove nut that holds on the strut mount and bearing.

Here I used vice-grips to hold the strut rod from spinning.
You can use a 7mm long Allen wrench down the middle of the socket (I just didn't have one).  This method should be a last resort.  What you end up with below.

Strut mount and spring cap.

Dust boot and bump stop.

STEP 10 - INSTALL NEW STRUTS AND SPRINGS.

Brand new KYB GT-2 strut $60 bucks each.

Reassembly is the reverse.  If you are installing lowering springs make sure when you let the car down to line up the springs with the spring seats.

Good luck!
