What you see here is the stock factory head
unit. |

Remove factory head unit with special tools
(you can find them at any high audio shop or
dealer). Disconnect 3 wire harnesses and
antennae. |

Remove storage box above radio. |

Pull the wires out.

Figure out where to cram the wires. |

Connect the custom wire harness and cram wires
wherever they can fit (I tucked mine under the
unit, behind the HVAC controls). Connect
antennae power amplifier and tuck in back
left.
UPDATE: MKIV GOLF/JETTA COLOUR CODING
AFTERMARKET WIRES
* Red with white stripe = Continuous
power from battery whether key in ignition or
not power is always on.
* Brown = Ground.
* Yellow with I think red stripe no
worries it's the only yellow wire in the cluster
= accessory wire. |

Install the new radio sleeve, push metal pins
out from sides to secure into place.
Finally pull wires out through the sleeve to
connect to new radio. |

Connect wire harness and antennae adapter to
new radio, slide radio into sleeve and push
back until it "clicks". |

Install storage box above radio then install
black plastic casing around edge of radio. |

Turn car on and lets find out if the new head
unit works. |
