First you have to take the bumper off. I'm not
going to write up this part cause I used the
search and found a post with pics in under 2
minutes. Let me stress getting the bumper off
was a piece of cake! |

Take the front bumper off the car. Here
is the car with the bumper off.

| THE
MESH |
MEASURE
IT UP |

I found the mesh that I wanted to used at
sears hardware for $1.99 a sheet. Two sheets
are needed for this. Its just expanded sheet
metal gutter guard material. Here is the
labeling, it can be found or ordered by and
Sears hardware store. |

Here is a photo of the entire sheet next to
the bumper as you can see you will need 2
sheets to do all three grilles. |

Now is the tricky part cutting to the area so
fit the holes. I cut it the she shape of the
center while first leaving a little extra so
that it could be folded over the edge, then
holes needed to be cut for the protruding
spots where the stock grills snapped in. This
being the hardest part cause if you cut to
much off in the hole area you will have a gap
in the finished product. |

The same steps need to be taken for the two
side grilles, but they are much harder cause
of more obstacles to cut around and still have
them fit. I recommend starting with the
passenger side first cause it was the easiest. |

Next comes the paint. I used Gloss Black
Rustoleum. Since I have a dark car I thought
black would be more fitting then the silver
that they came in. I put three layers of paint
on so hopefully when rocks fly up they wont
chip through all 3 layers and cause rusting. |

Now I put them back into the bumper and with
some 5 minute epoxy started to glue them in.
I used a Q-tip to place the epoxy where the
metal was touching the inside plastic of the
bumper to insure that they were in securely. I
only had 5 minutes before the glue was dry so
this step requires you to work fast! |

THE
FINISHED LOOK |

I then put the bumper back on the car the same
way I had taken it off and was done. Total
time was about 4 hours cause I had to let the
paint dry 3 times and such. Total money spent
was $9.79 for a can of Rustoleum, 1 tube of 5
min epoxy, and 2 sheets of mesh. All of
these items were bought at the local Sears
hardware store. |
