Secure vehicle with jacks
(do not use hydraulic jacks
STEP 2.
STEP 3.
Start by using an
adjustable wrench to relieve the tension from
the belt tensioner (serpentine belt). Pull
serpentine belt off of the pulley.
Next remove the lower
center engine cover via four T25 torx Screws.
Now remove the lower right engine cover via one
T25 torx screw + two spider nuts. (1.8T remove
the lower intercooler tube via one 10mm nut + 2
hose clamps)
Spider nuts (above).
STEP 4.
STEP 5.
Remove the OEM power
steering pump pulley via three 6mm allen bolts.
You can use a screwdriver through the pullies
spokes to gain leverage.
Once removed it should look like this (see
below).
Remove the OEM serpentine
belt pulley from the crankshaft via four 6mm
allen bolts (I took my belt out later, so don't
worry about the photo with the belt).
Once removed it should look like this (see
below).
STEP 6.
STEP 7.
Now install the Euro
Sport UDP on the four bolt crank sprocket using
the same four 6mm allen bolts removed in the
previous step. Torque to 18ft-lbs.
Now locate the four 13mm
bolts securing the power steering pump to the
bracket on the engine. Remove the two upper
bolts completely and slightly loosen the other
two lower bolts.
STEP 8.
STEP 9.
Rotate the power steering
pump forward and install the supplied 3 bolt
bracket with supplied bolts and nuts in between
the power steering pump and the bracket.
Install all three bolts
simultaneously before final torque. Torque to
18ft-lbs
Once installed in
should look like this (see below).
STEP 10.
STEP 11.
Locate the power steering
rubber hose connected with a spring clamp. Some
vehicles will need to relocate this hose from
the front of the secondary hose to the back of
the secondary hose. Your hose should be
tensioned, if its tensioned then follow the
relocation step. Most 1999-2000 model cars don't
need to be relocated, but 2001 and up need to be
relocated. Crimp rubber hose with a hose
crimping tool or vise grips, expand spring clamp
and move off of rubber hose. Slip off hose and
plug power steering flitting with your thumb,
now relocate rubber hose and reinstall.
Before installing the 3
bolt power steering pulley relieve the tension
off of the serpentine belt tensioner. Reinstall
the serpentine belt over the power steering pump
pulley and cover the Euro Sport UDP at the same
time. This will make it easier to install the
power steering pulley. Torque the 3 bolts on the
power steering pulley to 18ft-lbs.
STEP 12.
STEP 13.
Note: Before
installing belt, check and torque all bolts
correctly.
Make sure the serpentine belt is installed
correctly and is fitted within the grooves of
the pullies. At this point you should have
proper belt tension and all the bolts and nuts
from the previous steps should be properly
torqued.
STEP 14.
After all bolts torqued
correctly, and belt installed start engine and
check for proper idle.
