VOLKSWAGEN CANADA SEPTEMBER SALES RESULTS

AJAX, ON - September 1, 2011 - New vehicle sales at Volkswagen Canada remained strong during the month of August as the company reported sales of 4,302. This represents a new record high for the month, and marks the eleventh consecutive record total. The results were a 28% improvement over the same period last year, when 3,369 Volkswagens were sold.

Year-to-date sales of 35,766 are also well above the 30,135 from last year, reflecting an increase of 19%.

"We are very pleased with our results, which have come about thanks to a renewed focus on the Canadian market, coupled with a combination of great products, and outstanding value", states John White, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada.

One of the best selling cars in Canada, the all-new Jetta is larger than its predecessor, yet still offers improved fuel economy and a fresh, modern look to go along with a significantly lower starting price. During the month of August, 2,176 were sold, bringing its year-to-date total up to 18,567, an increase of 260% over 2010.

This month, the newest member of the Jetta family, the high performance Jetta GLI will arrive at Dealerships throughout Canada. The 2012 GLI will feature a 200 hp turbocharged engine, sport suspension, and a host of features designed to enhance the performance and curb appeal of this popular model.
