Lift cover at base of both standard wiper arms
with small screwdriver to expose securing nut.
Remove securing nut and take off wiper arm.
Then remove nut on top of spindle but be
careful not to scratch the hood with the end
of the wrench. |

Lift hood and remove rubber seal along
scuttle, along with plastic tray, but
carefully pry off the metal clips. Disconnect
the multi-plug wiring from the side of wiper
motor. Then remove nut at the base of wiper
motor which secures it to the bulkhead. |

Carefully remove the wiper assembly. To assist
this operation, push the spindles down through
scuttle and juggle it about as it can be a
tight squeeze. |

Take care not to lose the black plastic washer
which sits over the spindle under the scuttle
as you'll need to refit it later. |

With the complete assembly removed, you no
longer need this linkage so separate the wiper
motor by firstly removing the nut which
fastens the short arm of the centre of the
motor. You should then gently pry off the arm
to separate it. |

You can now undo three securing bolts that
hold the motor to the linkage. |

8. |

Fit the new linkage to your existing motor by
refitting the three securing bolts and the nut
which secures the short arm of the new
linkage. Don't tighten the latter as yet until
you've chosen a parked position. Put the
plastic washer back over the spindle and offer
the reassembled motor and linkage into place,
pushing spindle through hole in centre of
scuttle. |

Re-fit nut on top of scuttle to secure
spindle. Re-fit bolt securing wiper motor to
bulkhead. Reconnect electrical multi-plug. |

Switch on the ignition turn wiper on and off
so it can park itself. To set the park
position, pivot the short linkage arm to the
12 o'clock position to park in the centre of
the windshield, or to 9 o'clock for a left
hand position. Now tighten the nut which holds
the short linkage. |

Activate the wiper again and take note of the
spindle movement before fitting the new wiper
arm in the desired position. Double check
final position and adjust if required.
Finally, you should fit the grommets supplied
to blank the holes left in the scuttle by the
original wipers, before refitting the rubber
seal and scuttle tray under the hood. |

Take a look at the finished product. Clutter
be gone! Centred wiper and clean lines make a
touring car extraordinaire! |
